Planting day at Ryecroft Academy, Leeds
Ryecroft Academy in Leeds was visited by representatives of edding and their customer Banner to help plant trees in the school grounds. KS2 children, staff and representatives of the companies planted the saplings to create wildlife habitats and encourage biodiversity.
“edding have sponsored the tree planting here today. We're donating 5p from every EcoLine Marker, which are part of our new sustainability range. We've had a great day!” - Holly McDermott, edding UK
The trees were all native British species, grown in the UK and included Crab Apple, Cherry Plum, Whitebeam and Rowan. These new saplings will provide a perfect habitat for wildlife, promoting biodiversity and preserving the natural environment. The children gained hands-on experience of how trees are planted and learned how important trees are to the world in which we live.
edding has teamed up with Tree Appeal, planting native broadleaf trees in schools supported by their new EcoLine marker range.
edding has sponsored the planting of more than 300 trees at Ryecroft Academy, demonstrating their commitment to environmental education and their aim of reducing their impact on the natural world.
“It's been fantastic to have such a productive day, planting trees on our site. We would like to thank the sponsors for their great support in enabling us to do this.” - Helen Townsley - Principal, Ryecroft Academy
