Planting trees in the UK and Africa

Musicians at the durbarThe 2007 durbar in Anomabo, Ghana

A durbar was held at Anomabo on 25th March 2007 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s independence and also mark 200 years since the abolition of the Atlantic slave trade. Tree Appeal was there to join in the celebrations as part of our project to plant 10,000 trees in the region.

Here you can see pictures from the durbar including shots of David Bellamy, David Murden of 'Ask Albert' and the Tree Appeal Team. As part of the event there was a ceremonial planting of fruit trees.
