Heyfordian Travel celebrated their 70th Anniversary by launching a tree planting programme with Tree Appeal. Every time one of their coaches is hired a contribution is made towards planting trees in schools. Initially, the schools chosen will be in Heyfordian's primary operating areas of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. As the numbers grow the net will be spread wider to include schools right across the country.
In 2018 Heyfordian's trees were planted at the following locations:
Emmanuel Christian School, OX4 4PU - 10 trees
Ewelme Primary, OX10 6HU - 55 trees
Long Crendon Primary, HP18 9BZ - 70 trees
St Mary's CofE Primary, HP7 0EL - 75 trees
Walton High – Brooklands Campus, MK10 7HE - 20 trees
Elizabeth Woodville Academy – North Campus, NN7 2LP - 30 trees
Christ the Sower Primary, MK8 0PZ - 20 trees
Waddesdon C of E Secondary School, HP18 0LQ - 20 trees
Established in 1947, Heyfordian Travel is a family owned and managed business. Haulage was the mainstay of the family in the early 20th century with mechanised trucks introduced after the First World War. After the Second World War the company identified a need for passenger transport and in particular taking out the newly arrived American servicemen based at Upper Heyford on day and night trips around the local area. The business prospered and acquired a reputation for providing high quality customer care.
The present directors have built on that reputation and continue to offer high quality customer care to a wide range of companies, educational establishments, sports and social clubs and individuals – to anyone, indeed, who has a need to move numbers of people from place to place reliably and in comfort and safety. This has been done by maintaining a fleet of more than 75 modern coaches manned by experienced professional drivers and with an equally dedicated support staff.
