Cummins Engines



In 2009 Cummins Limited celebrate their 90th anniversary with the planting of a 100 trees in a Darlington school. Because of their participation in the "Trees for Schools" initiative, Cummins have also sponsored the refurbishment and the shipping of a computer to a school in Africa. This will provide 100 African school children with a grounding in IT skills.

Cummins Inc. is the world's largest designer and manufacturer of diesel engines ranging from 55 to 3,500 horsepower. The key markets for these engines are on-highway vehicles, industrial equipment, and power generation. In addition, Cummins provides filtration and acoustic systems, natural gas engines, engine components and electronic systems.

Employees of Cummins Engines and their families receiving Tree Appeal certificates from Professor David Bellamy at the official planting in North Lodge Park, Darlington. As part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations, Cummins Engines had donated 10 of their trees to the park. Each of these trees was dedicated to the family of a Cummins employee and some of their children were there to give a hand.
